名古屋城(Nagoya Castle)
It is located 13 minutes by train or taxi from Nagoya Station. At the end of the Sengoku period, the Battle of Sekigahara ended in victory of the eastern feudal lords. After winning the Battle of Sekigahara, Tokugawa Ieyasu established the Edo Shogunate in 1603. After that, the Edo Shogunate continued for about 260 years.
In 1610, Tokugawa Ieyasu ordered 20 western feudal lords, including Kato Kiyomasa and Fukushima Masanori, to build Nagoya Castle. The five-story castle tower, topped with a golden shachi, was one of the largest in history and was the latest in style at the time. The Honmaru Palace is decorated with Kano school wall paintings and luxurious decorative hardware, and is considered a representative example of the samurai-style shoin-zukuri style. I think it's a good place to visit if you have time.
